Festival & Traditions

The main annual cultural and arts festival in the City is the Minulu-an Festival, a one-week festivity, every September 4-10, showcasing the best in arts and culture that the City has to offer. Talisaynons proudly celebrate the distinctiveness of their identity, displaying inherent honor in the gallantry of its ancestors, highlighting the heroics of Captain Sabi who took charge in driving away the Moro intruders. September 10 is also the Feast of the City’s Patron, St. Nicholas de Tolentino, whose church is flocked by the religious especially every First Friday.

Every October 1, the city holds the sweet Lanzones Festival. Barrio Concepcion is famous for its sweet lanzones fruit; with the aim to promote this industry and as a thanksgiving for the bountiful harvest, lanzones farms open for the public where people can enjoy an “eat-all-you-can” lanzones for a very cheap cost.

The Charter Day thanksgiving festival, hailed as the Pasidungog Festival is celebrated every February 11. This is the opportunity for the Talisaynons to thank God for all the graces they have received. Literary and Sports Competition are held during the three-day celebration. Highlighting the festival is the holding of the beauty and talent search, the Pasidungog Queen Pageant.
