World Population Day 2026: Health, Hope, and Equal Opportunity for Every Talisaynon

World Population Day Health and Wellness Drive in Sitio Louie

In celebration of World Population Day 2026, the Talisay City Primary Care Facility and the Talisay City Population and Development Office successfully conducted a comprehensive Health & Wellness Drive for the Indigenous Peoples (IP) community of Sitio Louie, Barangay Katilingban. The outreach reaffirmed the City's commitment to ensuring that quality healthcare and essential government services reach even the most remote areas, leaving no Talisaynon behind.

Residents of the community received vital, free services, including:

  • PhilHealth YAKAP Registration
  • Distribution of Maintenance Medications and Vitamins
  • Profiling and Distribution of Family Planning Commodities
  • Health Education on Responsible Parenthood
  • Psychosocial Risk Assessment for Adolescents (10–19 years old)
  • Deworming Services
  • Rice Relief Distribution

Under the leadership of Mayor Weng Lizares, the city continues to champion accessible, inclusive, and people-centered healthcare under her "Gwapa nga Panghimanwa" agenda. Through grassroots initiatives like this, the City Government strengthens its commitment to empowering every family, promoting responsible parenthood, protecting the health of children and adolescents, and ensuring that Indigenous Peoples receive the care and support they deserve.

The organizers extend their heartfelt gratitude to Kusina ni Mayor Weng, the City Mayor's Office, and SPM Kenn Tirthdas for providing the essential food and transportation assistance that enabled the team to safely reach Sitio Louie and bring government care directly to the people who need it most.

"Sa pagsaulog sang World Population Day, ginapakita sang Talisay nga ang pag-atipan sa katawhan wala sang ginapabay-an. Pinaagi sa padayon nga paninguha sang administrasyon ni Mayor Weng Lizares, ang serbisyo sa panglawas ginadala mismo sa komunidad agud mas madamo nga pamilya ang makaangkon sang maayo nga kahimsugan, proteksyon, kag mas masanag nga palaabuton."

Healthy Families. Empowered Communities. A Stronger Talisay.
